| 2-19-2011 | Started into beekeeping this weekend with both feet! I had a neighbor that was in need of removing a hive from his home.. it was move it now or he was going to kill them. So as soon as it got warm enough we got started. In an hour we had all of the comb cut out and the bees in the beevac packed into the car! A little smoke and a little sugar syrup and away we went. I took them home up the street and installed the comb into my top bar hive and then moved the bees in. The bees seem to have settled right in and were seen flying in and out of the hive in about and hour. I plan on feeding them along with the honey that I moved for them until flow starts. |
